I started The Brake Lights as a band of revolving friends in the New Jersey and Philadelphia area in the autumn of 2002.  I had sold my drum set and bought a Telecaster, and started writing songs between shifts at Whole Foods.

I’ve since gotten married and relocated to southern Vermont.  The next phase of The Brake Lights will entail building a recording studio on our land.  My vision of this studio involves sustainability and community, and its construction will be documented thoroughly on this site, when that time arrives.
